  1. LOGIN
    1. Registering
      To enter the site, you will only need to enter your name and email address, and create a password.
    2. Create a Password
      Upon registering, create a password for your account. This login information is unique to you and can be used across all our programs. After you have entered your name, email address, and password, you can enter the site. You can enter the rest of your personal information by clicking “Changer Personal Information” on the home tab.
    3. Forgotten Password
      Enter your email address and click “Send My Password” to receive an email from us with your username and password.   Please note the email must be the same one used in registration.
  2. HOME PAGE

    On the Home page there are several choices: Continue working on your last project, Create New Custom Book, See All My Books, or See All My Content.
    You may also save your personal information to the site (to save time later) by clicking “Change Personal Information.”

    1. Begin a New Book
      After logging in, you can start a new custom book by selecting ‘Create New Custom Book.’
    2. Access a previously created custom book
      Once you are logged in, you can access a previously saved book by going to the ‘My Custom Bookshelf’ tab and clicking ‘Continue Creating.’ Or, if it was the last book you were working on, you should see an option to ‘Continue Working on’ it on the home screen.
      Note: You will not be allowed to modify or delete any book that has already been ordered by your bookstore. Such entries will show a status of 'Ordered' in the ‘My Custom Bookshelf’ tab as well as the date the order was submitted.
    3. Delete custom book from list
      If you wish to delete any of the books from your list, you can delete it from your ‘My Custom Bookshelf’ tab by clicking ‘Delete.’
      Note: You will not be allowed to modify or delete any book that has already been ordered by your bookstore. Such entries will show a status of 'Ordered' in your bookbuild history as well as the date the order was submitted. You can, however, hide unwanted books on your bookshelf by clicking ‘Hide.’
  3. Create your Table of Contents
    1. Browsing
      1. Click the book icon next to the parent text title to view the available chapters from that book.
    2. Searching
      1. By Author, Book Title, ISBN, or Chapter Title
        Use the pull down menu to select what you would like to search by,  then enter what you are looking for in the search box.
      2. Keyword
        Use the pull down menu to select “by All” and enter your keyword.
      3. By Ordering Code or File Number
        Use the pull down menu to select “by All” and enter your keyword.
    3. Selecting Content
      To add a chapter to your custom book click on the selection you would like and either drag it to the “Ordered Items” box on the right or click “ADD SELECTIONS>.”

      To remove a chapter, click on the selection you would like to delete in the “Ordered Items” box and click “<Remove Items.”

      You can select as many or as few chapters and readings as you like but note that a minimum price or maximum page count may be imposed for certain programs.
      1. Previewing Content
        Click on ‘preview chapter’ to see a Flash preview of the complete chapter.

      2. Reorganizing Content
        Click and drag the selections under “Ordered Items” to the order where you would like them.
      3. Saving Your Work
        Your work is automatically saved in our system. To access a saved book, go to the “My Custom Bookshelf” tab and click “Continue Creating.”
      4. Adding a Section Title
        If you wish to insert a section title (or header) in your TOC, click the ' Add Section Title' button and enter your text in the designated field. Your section title will appear at the top of your list of selections. You can then drag and drop it anywhere in your list.
    4. View Table Of Contents
      You may preview your TOC as a printable PDF during the “Create TOC” step of composing your book, and also once you have finished creating your book from the Summary page. You can view the TOC for any of your previous books on the “My Custom Bookshelf” tab.
    5. Order From Catalog
      If you know the selection numbers of articles you wish to include, you may enter them into the search field.
    6. Add Your Own Material
      Click 'Add Outside Material' from the “Compose Book” tab, or go to the “My Content Files” tab. Click “Add Your Own Material.” Before adding material, you must read and accept the 'Terms of Uploading Files". Then, fill in the title and author of your material and locate your file using the ' Browse ' button. Click the 'Upload' button and your file will be uploaded to the system and added to your custom book.

      The uploaded file will begin or add to a list of files you have previously uploaded to the system, accessible from the “My Content Files” tab. The file will be automatically converted to a PDF file for previewing purposes. Uploaded material will also be reflected in the page and selection count of your custom book as well as in the TOC.
    7. Add Third Party Content
      Click 'Add Outside Material' from the “Compose Book” tab, or go to the “My Content Files” tab. Click “Add Third Party Content.” Fill in the title, author, and source fields then press the 'Add' button. This information is saved to the system and added to your custom book as a placeholder. You must then mail in a hard copy and electronic copy of the material you wish to include.
      The uploaded file will begin or add to a list of files you have previously uploaded to the system, accessible from the “My Content Files” tab. Your third party place holder will be reflected in your TOC.
  4. CUSTOMIZE YOUR COVER & TITLE PAGE
    1. Cover
      The Cover of your custom book may include up to three lines of text including the Title. You can use as many or as few of the lines as you like. Lines that do not have text will appear blank.   For example, if you enter text in lines 1 and 3 but not in line 2, then a blank space will appear on your cover page between lines 1 and 3.
      By default the system uses the currently saved working title of your custom book as the book title although you may choose to print a different title on your cover.
      To preview what your cover will look like with the text you provided click “PDF view.”
    2. Title Page
      Check the box next to " Title Page (If Different from Cover Text) " to provide different text information for your title page than what you provided for your cover. The Title Page may include up to three lines of text including the Title. You can use as many or as few of the lines as you like. Lines that do not have text will appear blank.   For example, if you enter text in lines 1 and 3 but not in line 2, then a blank space will appear on your cover page between lines 1 and 3.

      To preview what your cover will look like with the text you provided click “PDF view.”
  5. PROVIDE ORDER DETAILS
    • Fill out all the information necessary for us to handle your request and press NEXT' . Note that contact information provided during the registration process is being used as the default.
    • If you adopt other Pearson books, you can combine them in a package for a student discount. Enter the ISBNs in the fields indicated under “Bundled Books.”
    • The summary screen shows all information collected about your custom book. Use the 'BACK' button on this page to modify any of the information on this page. Once you have verified all the information, press "Generate ISBN" at the bottom of the page.
    • This confirmation page displays the ISBN# assigned to your custom book request.
    • IMPORTANT! - You must bring the ISBN# to your bookstore to place an order. Unless an order is placed through your bookstore no books can be printed.
    • For your records, use your browser print button to output a summary of your request.
    • You can then choose to exit the system or create a new book by selecting the appropriate tab or clicking the “Go to My Books” button.
